Production Supervisor - Maple Grove, MN

Production Supervisor Our customer is a leader in the design and manufacture of automated test equipment. They are looking to hire a production supervisor to lead a team of 10+ direct reports. This is a first shift position, direct hire position in the northwest Twin Cities area. Responsibilities: Plans daily production consistent with the master schedule to produce quality products at the most favorable material and labor costs in accordance with customer specifications/engineering documentation and committed ship dates. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Assures that all quality standards proscribed by the client or its customers are complied with at all times. Regularly reviews and analyzes production records, quality control reports, etc. to evaluate results being achieved in relation to planned goals and makes appropriate adjustments. Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. Continually evaluates all production work activities taking prompt corrective action to maximize productivity. These include, but are not limited to: Reducing WIP, lessening build time, reducing set-up times, reducing scrap and rework, reducing product costs, and effective ECO cut in. Bears accountability for the care, maintenance, and protection of company property. Obtains necessary equipment repairs promptly to maintain production at desired levels. Recommends new or replacement of existing equipment as deemed necessary to maintain or improve productivity. Assures safety awareness is established and takes prompt corrective action concerning any potential safety hazard. Assures that all required production, payroll, quality control data, etc., are reported timely and accurately. Oversees operating budget for the department; investigates and takes appropriate action regarding significant variances. Coordinates, communicates effectively, and cooperates with all other company personnel to facilitate achievement of overall department and company goals. Responsible for the selection of new personnel for the work area and providing leadership to assure adequate orientation and training in their assigned duties to make them proficient as rapidly as possible. Evaluates work performance of assigned personnel on a continuing basis, promptly calling attention to performance deficiencies as they occur. Commends and provides recognition for improved or outstanding performance where merited. Conducts effective performance reviews in accordance with established company practices. Makes appropriate recommendations regarding salary adjustments, promotion, transfers, etc. Documents unsatisfactory performance and recommends termination as necessary. Acquires and maintains a good working knowledge of the skill and technical requirements needed in the department. Sr. Technician - Plymouth, MN

Our customer is a leader in the HVAC industry, and currently seeking an experienced Lab Test Technician for a position in their R&D facility in their Plymouth, MN location. In this role you will work with the industry leader in commercial HVAC systems. You'll be working hands on with new product development and R&D engineers and technicians in a team focused lab setting. This is a direct hire position with the world wide leader in Plymouth, MN. This is a second shift position, (3pm - midnight) Responsibilities: • Set up and tests large water/air cooled chillers and other mechanical devices • Implements major/minor test unit modifications • Works safely on large complex mechanical systems with little or no supervision. • Helps determines the proper course of action during mechanical test programs. • Provides input for possible (sometimes unconventional) solutions to difficult mechanical/ electrical problems that will keep projects on schedule. • Insures complex mechanical/electrical equipment is in proper operating order at all times. HVAC experience or equivalent combination of education and experience a huge plus. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to data obtained from chiller tests. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Must have good working knowledge with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Experience with LabView or other PC based data acquisition tools a Plus. Automation Engineer (Data Historian) Our client is developing a modernized and unified industrial R&D test laboratory data acquisition and control system with a database-driven data historian. Responsibilities: Centrifugal compressor design from one-dimensional mean line analysis through to 3D CFD analysis. This includes the complete centrifugal compressor aero flow path, both rotating and stationary, of both single and two stage compressors. Evaluates mechanical aspects to ensure the product will meet life cycle requirements. This will include detail stress, vibration, modal, fatigue analysis of all designed components. Detailed involvement in all steps in the product development process/life cycle, from customer requirement, to design, to prototype manufacturing, to product qualification, to final product implementation and product launch. In depth involvement in all aspects of the test phase to validate design. Provides detailed aerodynamic analysis based on the CFD and experimental data. Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Technical, Scientific, Engineering) 7-9 years of related experience. Extensive knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis). Expertise in aerodynamics and thermodynamics. Ability to design entire aero flow path, both rotating and stationary, of centrifugal compressor without guidance or support. Requires in-depth knowledge of turbomachinery, specifically centrifugal compressors, both aero and mechanical. Solid fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering principles with focus on stress analysis, mechanics of materials, vibration, fatigue, and failure modes. Requires experience using commercial CFD and FEA codes. Preferably experience using the ANSYS simulation suite. Experience in product testing and data acquisition, with emphasis on compressor performance validation and compressor mapping. Experience in design and manufacturing of high performance centrifugal compressor impellers desired. Our customer is an Engineering and construction company with a market focus in the food and beverage, power, energy and mining industries. They have an immediate need for a Structural Designer. Experience with industrial facilities and reinforced concrete is a big plus. This is a contract position, with the potential of going full time direct. A full time opportunity is available for a Sr. MES Consultant based in the Philadelphia area. This is a key role within this Company’s Organization and will be responsible to meet with customers upfront to discuss their process and manufacturing challenges while presenting them with the best MES solution. As a Sr. MES consultant, you will work with a diverse team of professionals to execute MES Projects. You will provide the leadership and mentoring of fellow project members. You will participate in all phases of a project from requirements definition through plant startup in a customer facing role. As part of the Technical Team, you will work closely with the Technology Organization where your ideas can help shape future product development. Qualifications: BS Degree with min. 10+ years overall experience, with min. of 10+ years MES Project experience At least 5 years’ experience working with MES Solutions in the Pharma Industry Strong communication skills – both oral and written working with Engineering Team and with Clients. Demonstrated experience working as both a leader and individual contributor on MES Projects. Experience to work with customers to create user requirements for MES based on customer engagement. Design and implementation experience with major MES Solutions (Werum PAS-X, Syncade, Rockwell ProPack Ability to travel for extended periods of time to project locations for up to 6-8 weeks (sometimes depending on the project it can be months) with the ability to come home every two weeks. Our customer is a growing leader in the Motion Control industry, manufacturing automation components. They currently have an immediate opening for a Quality Technician to work at their facility located in the Plymouth, MN area. This is a contract to direct hire position. Objective: To develop, implement, and coordinate quality support measures, as assigned by the QA Manager, in a manner which will facilitate the achievement of quality cost reduction goals while maintaining superior quality standards for the Company. To perform established quality functions in a manner which will ensure that products consistently meet specific and implied quality and performance standards. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in mechanical technology or related field. At least 4 years of general experience in a manufacturing environment covering a broad range of related quality functions. At least 1 year of specific experience in developing, implementing, and coordinating quality plans. Sound decision making qualities.
