Field Automation Technician – DCS/SIS #201024

A Process Automation Company has a full-time direct position available for a Field Automation Technician to service and support their DCS/SIS business. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with the industry’s top automation systems across a diverse industry base. You will receive continuous training and certification across the products/systems you support.

As a Field Automation Technician, you will be the primary contact to customers with systems service agreements. You will prioritize, schedule and perform preventative maintenance, revision installation and corrective maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the preventative and maintenance demands of service agreement customers for DCS and SIS Systems.
Support system installation that includes pre-installation drawing reviews and inspections.
Assist sales in preparing system migration quotes.
Provide telephone support to assist resolving customer technical problems and issues.
Assist in setup of training station for factory and customer training.
Perform Factory Acceptance Testing on Systems
Develop test configurations and test hardware to assist in testing hot spares in the shop.
Assist Field Service Coordinators in gathering all pertinent information in support of field service billing and repair processing.
Available for on-call duty for after-hours emergency customer support as required.
Obtain Safety training in the Area Safety Councils for all Systems Support Agreement customers annually as needed.
Assist in qualifying vendors for repair and parts purchases.

2 year Associate Degree or 4 year BS degree.
4+ years field service technician experience with control systems in an industry process control environment.
Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task.
Strong interpersonal skills and strong customer relationship skills.
Proficiency with the use of common office software applications.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and electrical drawings.
Ability to write technical reports.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Strong background in network communications and cabling, installing personal computers operating systems and application software.
Strong background in AC power and ground installation and equipment.
Must pass DOT and customer’s required initial access drug tests
Must pass criminal background check, includes receiving TWIC card.
Ability to work in the physical demanding industrial work environment.
