Senior Service Technician
Position Summary:
The Senior Service Technician provides technical assistance and guidance to production, customer support, field service, and engineering. This role performs service, troubleshooting, and repair activities to complex electro-mechanical systems and system subassemblies used in all ACIST Medical Systems equipment. The Senior Service Technician will provide work direction to Technician I and II personnel and maintain workflow within the department in alignment with the objectives set by the department Supervisor and Service leadership.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Understand and comply with Bracco Medical Technologies Quality Policy, ESD precautions, and OSHA guidelines as applicable
Perform service duties across all Bracco/ACIST Product types
Generate Service Orders for customer and BMT owned systems and sub-assemblies
Verify fault conditions listed in complaint Problem Record
Identify faulty components and sub-assemblies using intermediate troubleshooting techniques; repair and/or replace components accordingly
Perform thorough cleaning and inspection of returned systems and sub-assemblies
Obtain replacement parts as necessary and perform inventory transactions within EPR/MRP database
Check Engineering Change Order records and Service Memos for updates to requirements for Software, Hardware, and Repair Procedures
Install new software and update hardware components as required including quality and performance testing on systems to verify upgrades
Update device history records and complaint records. Prepare repair records for customer invoice
Arrange return shipments to customers with Customer Support
Synchronize current product design changes/issues into repair activities
Test product to verify it meets design specifications
Enter repair information into SAP, SalesForce, and TrackWise databases
Generate Quality System Records on applicable documentation
Participate in continuous improvement activities related to process, documentation and material improvements
Assist Technician I and II personnel with diagnostics, repairs, and training
Provide Fault Logs, observed data, troubleshooting and repair information, and assistance as required to Quality, Engineering and Post-Market Surveillance Departments
Support Field Service Area Supervisors with customer issues
Participate in interview and employee review processes
Assign work direction to Service Technician I and II personnel
Investigate and resolve Customer Support, Receiving, and Quality related Service function issues
Adhere to the Tools and Equipment Calibration schedule
Maintain strict inventory counts
Maintain a clean work environment
At times, there may be additional tasks or duties assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Minimum
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Bracco Medical Technologies
High School diploma or equivalent
5-7 years electro-mechanical assembly or repair experience
High level of problem solving and diagnostic skills and attention to detail
Advanced board-level trouble shooting and electro-mechanical repair skills
Proficient in the use of mechanical assembly tools (i.e. wrenches and screw drivers)
Proficient in the use measurement equipment (i.e. Digital Multimeter, caliper, micrometer)
Moderate level of computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MRP Systems and database systems
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP’s), ISO regulations, and Quality Systems as it pertains to hardware manufacturing at Medical Device Manufacturers
Demonstrated ability to follow manufacturing processes directions and drawings to mechanically assemble components (e.g., sheet metal parts, electrical parts)
The ability to maintain accurate documentation (e.g., record traceability information onto routers, and transact materials online)
Ability to work independently with high degree of accuracy and without immediate and constant supervision.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to maintaining positive interpersonal relationships and foster cooperation within and outside the department
The physical ability to lift and package assemblies up to 60 lbs
Preferred:
Associates or Technical Degree, or combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge (relevant military service will be considered as a degree equivalent)
7+ years experience in a technician role diagnosing, repairing, and operating software driven electro-mechanical equipment
2+ years working with strict documentation practices
Knowledge of ISO and FDA regulations
Demonstrated experience utilizing ERP and Complaint Handling databases
