Quality Engineer

This Quality Engineer will have the responsibility for ensuring quality within the Calibration Center of Excellence Region 1.  This team provide calibrations for test and measurement equipment used in research, development, and manufacturing environments within Medtronic.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:

Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and protocols for ensuring equipment is calibrated to its full specifications.
Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and vendors to ensure quality standards are in place.
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Ensures that calibration suppliers deliver services that meets Medtronic expectations for quality.
Reviews calibration certificates to support external electrical calibrations

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical field with 0 years of work experience

Nice to Have

Electrical Engineering Degree
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to coach and lead projects efficiently in a team environment
Familiarity with operating in a regulated environment (21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, etc.)
Customer service skills
Basic knowledge of measurement principles:  measurement uncertainty, measurement traceability, measurement standards, test uncertainty ratios, measurement system analysis (MSA), SI units, calibration intervals, and out-of-tolerance reporting.
Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement methodologies; Green Belt, Six Sigma, etc.
