Zero Zone is a manufacturer of reach-in and open refrigerated and frozen food display cases as well as the refrigeration systems that work behind the scenes to cool the cases, keeping the food fresh! We also make powerful industrial refrigeration systems for food warehousing, pharmaceuticals, and even ice rinks!
Our company is structured across 2 divisions – the Display Case Division, located in North Prairie, WI, Waukesha, WI, and Pewaukee, WI and the Refrigeration Systems Division, located in Ramsey, MN and now Dyersville, IA.

What Will You Do?
Under the direction of the Lab Manager, the Test Engineer-Electrical/Automation will design and build software or hardware systems for lab fixtures at our North Prairie, WI R & D Lab. This individual will also create, revise, and oversee execution of test standards for existing and new products in areas of performance, robustness, and reliability. This individual may also help to design test specifications to resolve quality, manufacturing, or new product issues. They may also help to calculate and analyze test data from both internal and external (i.e. outside vendors) This individual should show proficiency in soft skills and excellent communication. Additional responsibilities include 5S, inventory management, and lab equipment maintenance as necessary.
What Are We Looking For?
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of you in this position:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Minimum 2 years in R&D test laboratory.
Experience with designing and building fixtures.
Experience with 3D printing.
Advanced proficiency with AC/DC circuit design and wiring for sensors and automation.
Advanced proficiency of Analog and Discrete Data Acquisition.
Advanced proficiency in programming in ladder logic, python, LabVIEW or other programming languages.
Proficiency in RS-232 and RS-485 communication.
Proficiency in wireless communication protocols (WIFI, Bluetooth, etc.)
Refrigeration experience desired.
Solidworks experience creating models and drawings for fabrication of parts and fixtures.
Experience in creating test standards, methods, or procedures or other company documentation.
ASHRAE, Intertek or other Agency preferred.
Exceptional organizational skills with focus on results.
