Design Validation Engineer
This Design Validation Engineer is responsible for leading centrifugal chiller (system, sub-systems and components) validation planning, execution and final reporting. The role will partner with Design Engineering and Laboratory teams to develop and manage design validation plans and execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Contributes to DVP&R for New Product Development and Productivity projects.
Plan and manage the completion of development testing.
Assist in the development of standard test procedures in order to drive test efficiency and laboratory throughput.
Contribute to master test plans and coordination of resource, instrumentation and facility needs.
Reduce test data and share analysis results with recommendations to the design team.
Serve as a technical liaison between design engineering and the laboratory teams.
Develop experimental techniques necessary to drive new technology development.
Coordinate with Simulation teams in developing integrated model validation processes.
Collaborate with Laboratory Test Engineering groups in Operational Excellence efforts.
Understand field reliability events and document those failures in DFMEA and DVP.
Education/Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer background.
1 – 3 years of applicable experience in a testing environment.
Key Competencies:
Strong project management, people skills and communication skills.
Strong analytical and engineering statistics background is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with laboratory and design teams
Must be able to lead and motivate individuals and teams
