Test Engineer

Test Engineer Summary: Provide subject matter expertise pertaining to integration of laboratory systems; mechanical, electrical, data acquisition, and control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Learn and apply technical skills related to mechanical and electrical HVAC systems toward establishing new test methods for new product development engineering activities
Work with cross-functional project teams to ensure testing expectations are clearly defined and communicated.
Primary technical resource for troubleshooting issues with test cells, instrumentation, data acquisition software, and test units.
Create technical project plans for new or upgrades to existing capital test equipment.
Champion data collection process, from acquiring signals to data verification & reporting
Provide technical oversight as required to general testing activities to ensure the highest level of quality and integrity of result.
Review and comprehend external testing standards & how they apply to internal testing procedures.
Review and approve internal testing standards.
Develop new testing methodologies for incorporation into existing Daikin testing methods and procedures.
Frequently use hand tools as needed to perform specialized tests, troubleshoot/repair equipment, etc.
Implement laboratory process improvements as related to productivity, metrics, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
Proficient with RTDs, thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, and analog/digital data acquisition.
Ability to work in a fluid environment
Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with vendors to perform work and services relating to tech center systems
Experience working cooperatively and effectively with cross functional teams
Experience leading and motivate individuals and teams
Experience LabVIEW and/or certification desired
Experience with PLC and PID controllers desired
Experience working in R&D center/lab setting desired
