• Prepare and revise documentation, including BOM, SOP, work instructions, and process training manuals. Used AutoCAD to create and update product and fixture drawings.
• Developed and optimized GTAW welding procedures for three major product lines. Special emphasis on automated TIG welding and resistance welding processes.
• Perform failure analysis and root cause analysis on all OEM products rejected in process, as well as those returned by customer. Elminated second largest failure mode in OEM product line by replacing oxy-acetylene braze with a micro-resistance weld.
• Designed and implemented production work cells. Utilized value stream mapping techniques to eliminate waste from current state. Improved throughput on major product line by 14%.
• Evaluated, designed, and improved workstations for OEM product line, with stress on ergonomics, cumulative quality, and point of use inventory. Designed tooling to create consistent orientation, dimensional fixturing, and improve work holding and safety.
• Perform DOE for proposed design and process improvements, as well as materials testing for engineering design guidance. Developed and performed process validation for six major manufacturing processes.
• Support manufacturing by evaluating and implementing continuous improvement projects proposed by production team as well as quickly responding to equipment, process, and documentation issues.
• Collaborated with Sales and Marketing department on product development and design. Designed unique products and improved existing product offering; lowering cost and improving marketability.
