As the Technician I am the first point of contact to meet the company’s mailing productivity standards and requirements. My career as a Technician has helped me increase my technical and communication skills.
The Job
• Responsible for mechanical and electronic repairs of all equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to TQM and vendor operating standards.
• Respond to equipment break down or emergency situations with urgency and expediency.
• Evaluate and assesses equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner.
• Communicate and/or escalates serious equipment issues to the Lead Technician, supervisors and management.
• Study, review and utilizes vendor technical manuals, publications or updates, as needed, to remain familiar with all changes or modifications to equipment.
• Train, assists and guides other site technicians.
• Assist other PBPS locations with moving and/or installing of equipment as needed.
• Respond to a cell phone during on-call periods or during emergency situations.
• Promote a clean work area to prevent possible injuries and/or tripping hazards to self and others.
• Order parts from corporate and outside vendors and maintain inventory.
• Multi-task, prioritize and communicate with managers, customers and a team of 50 employees.
• Write daily and machine reports of general maintenance and machine repairs.
