Supervised six manufacturing engineers and four tool room machinists in an OEM, union environment and
also insured production schedules were met for the introduction of new products, justified and
implemented new cnc equipment, and served on the Dezurik engineering standards board.
Organized the transfer of an entire ball valve product line to a different facility as a product manager
responsible for fixture creation, cnc programming, assembly and manufacturing processes, print
improvements, product redesign, continuing improvements, and direction of engineering, purchasing, and
production personnel.
Justified new machine purchases using EVA, NPV, IRR, ROI, and other financial methods to purchase a
variety of manufacturing equipment including cnc lathes and mills, saws, industrial washers, and
numerous facility improvement programs such as fixture packages, hoists, lifts, and casting patterns
changes.

programmable cmm, and the use of a wide variety of hand gauges to check very tight tolerances. Assisted
in performing quality functions such as first article and final part inspections and preparing gaging for
production use.
Additional responsibilities included improving and stabilizing machining processes, operator training in
both general machining practices and in cnc programming, and troubleshooting machine errors or
technical difficulties.
Secondary job functions involve machine operation and the production of machined components to print,
cnc programming and editing, and process engineering.
Generally responsible for all facets of production during second-shift manufacturing.

Manufacturing Engineer

Focused responsibilities include writing processes and routings for new products, being the primary cnc
programmer for all lathes and mills within a certified facility, resolving shop floor problems with programs
or machining issues, and coordinating tooling improvements for cost savings or set up and cycle time
reduction.
Managed a project to reduce cnc lathe setup times including the purchase of auto loading barfeeders, VDI
tooling, quick change internal tool holders, and modifying existing cnc programs to include macro B style
parametric programming.
Responsible for the transition of nine cnc lathes from an obsolete facility to a more modern factory
including updating routings and processes, and insuring cnc programs and work instructions were current
and ISO compliant.
Active in part manufacturability from the release of the print to manufacturing engineering through active
production, working with all required internal resources to insure that a fully functional part could be
produced within cost and quality parameters.

Primary duties consist of sole responsibility for programming multiple cnc lathes and mills, including those
with indexers, creating, locating and assisting in the design of fixturing, insuring that all required special
tools are stocked or on order and instructing machine operators during first article inspection.
Oversaw machinery such as brake presses, tube benders, flat lasers, tube lasers, saws, punch presses,
folders and shears, and assisted in proving out new processes and completing first article production
runs.
Often created and reprocessed routings along with creating special tolerances, setting up a material,
routing to vendors and approving prints for production. Singularly responsible for the machining process
from design concept through the pilot run and full production.
Responsible for ISO compliance in both the machining and fabrication departments including
documentation and operator training. Currently certified as an internal auditor and am in charge of
maintaining and updating existing ISO documents in the machining and fabrication departments and
adding new documents as required.
Capital purchase project management is an important additional responsibility, and these projects have
led to purchases of a Haas cnc lathe, four HE&M saws, and two Haas mill indexers. Was the original
programmer for all capital projects and went on to receive Haas factory training in both machine operation
and cnc programming.
Singularly responsible for the machining process from design concept through the pilot run and full
production, continuously working with quality assurance, design engineering and manufacturing personnel
to producing a viable upper level weldment.

Cnc Programmer

Responsibilities included creating and processing routings along with all associated duties such as setting
up a material, creating special tolerances and routing to vendors. Primary duties also consisted of
programming multiple lathes and mills, creating or locating fixturing, and insuring that all required tools are
stocked or on order.
Quality assurance, including both maintaining SPC charts and QS-9000 compliance, was an additional
duty.
New equipment purchases, including three Swiss lathes, two Eurotech lathes, an OKK mill, a Hyd-Mech
mitering saw and an Almco part washer, were also an area of responsibility. This consisted of completing
all of the preparations before and after the purchases including time studies and cost estimates, overall
financial justification, dealer contacts and proposals, and tooling and accessory purchases.
Participated in the creation of a low volume machining cell consisting of six cnc lathes, three cnc mills,
one manual lathe and one manual mill. Paired two cnc lathes with one operator to reduce costs on higher
volume production parts. Also assembled two Swiss lathes, two manual lathes and one manual mill into a
two-operator cell to reduce throughput time on forcing screw products.
Secondary duties included being the back up operator on all three of the Swiss cnc lathes after more than
two years of being the main operator on all machines. Responsibilities of this position were the
manufacturing of parts to print, occasional programming at the machine, set up and production at above
standard rates, and the editing or correcting of programs as needed.
Previously responsible for scheduling work on nine lathes and managing several co-workers on second
shift as the manual lathe department lead man including preparing jobs for production and readying
gaging, tooling, and stock.
