I’m a hands­on senior commissioning engineer and executive that is capable of providing on site mechanical and day­to­day operational management. In my duties I have been responsible for assisting the startup & commissioning manager on all project commissioning and startup activities in accordance with the schedule and within the established startup budget. I have authority to allocate resources and make startup, commissioning, and testing decisions in accordance with company Policies, Standards, Guides, and Contractual commitments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Managing the process of construction completion turnover to startup, startup turnover to operations, and final turnover to the client, Managing priorities and activities of startup staff, Assisting in the development and maintaining a detailed startup schedule and detailed set of startup packages to track Startup completion and progress, Managing and maintaining open communications and relationship with the client, Responsible for managing and monitoring the Startup budget and man hours. Developing clear startup procedures as required by contract to coordinate the startup effort, Planning and preparing for startup activities and major milestones (chemical cleaning, steam blow, demonstration tests, etc.), Implementing a coordinated operations control program ensuring good communication and the smooth execution of operational activities, Creating and implementing controls process for spares, consumables, outstanding work, and material deliveries, Coordinating the daily activities effecting and involving startup, Providing supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports. I identify and assess improvement opportunities which will add value. I champion continuous improvement efforts. Assess and support the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Proactively support, encourage and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Garrison Energy Center Dover, DE Lead Ops/Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
This project consists of one GE 7FA.04 Gas Turbine providing steam to a GE A-10 steam turbine generator set through a Nooter Erickson HRSG. I am responsible for the safe operation of this facility during all start up and commissioning activities. As owners rep for Calpine I reviewed and made modifications to all of the commissioning procedures and assisted in Ovation DCS and GE MK6 implementation. Later I was named Lead Ops & Mechanical where I directed all startup procedures for BOP systems as well as first fire, steam blows and initial synchronization and tuning for performance testing.

This project consists of Two GE 7FA Gas Turbines providing steam to a Toshiba steam turbine generator set through Vogt HRSG’s. I am responsible for the safe operation of this facility during all start up and commissioning activities. Also responsible for training client operations department on the plants Emerson Ovation DCS and GE MK6 gas turbine control system. I direct and counsel the client supervisory personnel during the commissioning and initial start­up through acceptance of the project. Additionally I represent our organization to senior level client personnel during the pre­commissioning, commissioning, test run and acceptance of the plant.

Lead Operations Commissioning Engineer

Responsible for the safe operations and commissioning of this 125 MW thermal solar power plant, consisting of a 660 FT. solar tower receiver and heliostat collectors with an Alstom steam turbine. This facility heats molten sodium for steam production from solar energy for 24 hour operation. I assisted in setting up the Emerson Ovation DCS, shot point to points and loop checks with I&C and trained O&M personnel.

Mechanical/Operations Commissioning Engineer
Project consists of two thermal solar generating units with 125 mw Siemens steam turbines. Responsible for conducting start up activities from the control room and in the field, verified systems are lined up for daily activities such as? steam blows, ACC cleaning, HTF de­watering and Ullage system commissioning. Directed all steam turbine commissioning activities from emergency stop testing through initial synchronization and AVR tuning to full load. Directed operations and trained NextEra Energy operations personnel on the Siemens T3000 DCS.

Mechanical/Operations Commissioning Engineer

This Project consists of 6 fast start GE LMS100 gas turbines rated at 600 MW’s. I was responsible for lube oil flushes and commissioning the closed cooling water, demin and service water for Nox water injection and evap cooling systems. I commissioned the air cooled heat exchanger and 129 cooling fans, I supervised high speed cranks, water wash and first fire activities from the power control modules and the control room utilizing MK 6 Cimplicity and Ovation DCS. I fired the units daily for SCR tuning and seven day drift tests.

I was responsible for combustion turbine and steam turbine oil flushes and EHC flushes. I supervised start up activities on the plants Boiler feed, condensate, circ water and closed cooling water systems. I was responsible for the safe operation of this facility during all start up and commissioning activities including steam blows, first fire, green rotor run in to synchronization and tuning up to base load for performance test. I trained client operations department on the plants Emerson Ovation DCS and GE MK6 gas turbine control systems. I direct and counsel the client supervisory personnel during the commissioning and initial start­up through acceptance of the project.
