Teaching Assistant University Of Cincinnati Cincinnati, OH
May 2015 to August 2015
Responsibilities
Teaching Assistant for undergraduate course in Fluid Mechanics. Duties included assisting with preparing homework, projects and grading. Also conducted hands-on software training sessions, to familiarize students with Ansys-Fluent and Pointwise software for use in course project.
Research Assistant University Of Cincinnati Cincinnati, OH
September 2013 to June 2014
Responsibilities
Numerical Analysis of End-Sealed Squeeze Film Dampers using Moving-Reference Frame (MRF) (Funded by GE Aviation)
• Performed a CFD simulation study of Long and Short SFD Bearings compared the computed pressure forces with the corresponding analytical Reynolds solutions. The comparison showed less than 3% difference, and demonstrated the correct implementation of the MRF approach for SFDs.
• Used the same approach for an Offset-Groove and a Center-Groove configuration of end-sealed SFDs, employed in low-speed engines, and compared the results with the experimental data provided. The results compared within 7%, suggesting that the numerical methodology developed is appropriate for computing forces for these configurations, and may be used for design studies.
Gave bi-weekly presentations, and submitted periodic reports to GE€™s Team, to outline the methods used and results obtained.
• Currently helping existing project members with cavitation and dynamic mesh analysis. Cavitation study includes vapor, gaseous and mixed cavitation.
In process of writing a manuscript to submit my findings to a reputed journal for publication.
