Professional Experience

Cobham Defense Systems, Telemetry Group – Contractor
2010-2013

RF Radio Transceiver Design

Development of on-board C-band radio transceivers for missile guidance for two separate projects. Review of proposed architecture and design, modeling of system line-up vs. requirements, respond to customer technical questions, supervise board layout, manage BOM, develop test plan and perform board de-bug and design verification testing. Required high level of performance with small size and battery power constraints. Design of a GPS low noise front end with PIN diode limiter for US Army precision guidance munitions to operate in a high EMP environment. Managed all aspect of design and product development. Developed software for test automation using Agilent VEE and C/C++. Demonstrated working hardware in customer’s lab. Managed the production and delivery of follow-on orders to support range testing by major defense contractor. Developed low cost device control for synthesizers and transceiver functions with GUl using the Arduino DUE (Atmel SAM3X8E) and the Processing language.

Nucomm(RF Extreme, Vitec Ltd.)
2007-2009

RF Video Engineer

Managed all phases of video transmitter and receiver product realization process including system level analysis and simulation, circuit card design and component selection, verification and manufacturing test and support and after market service consulting. Extensive simulation of new designs and for product yield improvement. Simulated and implemented a wide band bias tee for remote RF transmit head applications, enabling a single RF path for 2/7 GHz bands, resulting in reduced BOM cost. RF/Analog expertise complemented by ability to diagnose FW/SW issues. Familiarity with embedded system programming. Products include microwave/analog video transmitters and receivers operating up to 13 GHz for electronic news gathering(ENG.)

Tyco Electronics/M/A-Com
2004-2007

Product Development Engineer

System and circuit board level simulation and design of demonstration and evaluation platforms incorporating proprietary ICs, including synthesizers, VCOs, and a polar transmitter IC. RFDE and Cadence facilitated the modeling of a SIP based VCO based on proprietary VCO core. Designs were debugged and tested in the lab. Team contributor to a system level design in response to customer RFP for a video/ telemetry transceiver for unmanned military aircraft (UAV) including cascade analysis for noise and linearity in Spectrasys.
