OBJECTIVE
Apply process controls and design expertise in a production or design role.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
• Created, programmed, and wrote the control narrative for a new pH control scheme, which enabled the Nylon
66 production plant to continuously run the series reactors instead of batching product
• Simultaneously increased sulfuric acid production yield and reduced water treatment costs by designing and
implementing a weak acid recovery stream
• Resolved HSE concerns (ammonia vapor) surrounding the production of a new refining catalyst by optimizing
the vapor collection system and analyzing/modifying the scrubber system
• Influenced project decisions with plant performance metrics including variable costs and process efficiencies
• Served as the process lead for a new production line providing technical support and operational perspective in
the detailed design and control scheme development
• Drove the implementation of a MIMIC process simulator and updated programming for process changes
PLANT EXPERIENCE
• DeltaV DCS experience includes programming interlocks/controls, tuning loops, implementing and improving
control schemes, alarm management, troubleshooting, and creating graphics
• Supported best engineering practices development, wrote control narratives, Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs)
for major equipment, Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA), and PreStartup
Safety Reviews (PSSR)
• Site owner of the Interlock Matrix, PI Process Book, process data archiving, and engineering drawings
• Troubleshot chemical, water, mechanical, and DCS issues
• Optimized operating conditions and wrote/revised procedures
• Purchased and led the implementation of equipment and materials including pumps, catalyst, water treatment
chemicals, acid strength analyzers, vent steam ejectors
• Led turnaround projects and performed equipment inspections entailing confined space entries including
absorption towers, gas/gas heat exchangers, electrostatic precipitators, reactors, and tanks
• Supervised and supported Operations to ensure safe and successful plant startups
and shutdowns
