Hardware Engineering Manager at Image Sensing Systems
September 2013 – September 2014 (1 year 1 month)
Managing resources and projects concurrently. Resource management consisting of local and international
direct staff along with internal and external contractors. Projects encompass a range of complexities from
new product development to product lifetime support including part replacement, technology refresh,
feature expansion and product technology merge all founded on business case based on market analysis.
Responsibilities for embedded processor, power conversion, video image integrity, mechanical solution,
cross functional coordination and transition to production as program manager and lead engineer.
Career Development at In Transition – Pursuing New Opportunities
January 2013 – August 2013 (8 months)
I spent the better half of 2013 developing myself for a new opportunity. My plan was three fold: -Network
to let people know what I could do and learn of potential opportunities; -Research and apply at companies
that matched my areas of interest; -Educate myself by obtaining professional certification in Project
Management, learning Business Analytics and developing software programs My intent was to remain in
the Twin Cities area. I was focused on technical management with a balance between process control and
creativity utilizing cross-functional collaboration to effectively incorporate new technologies.
Product Integration at Lockheed Martin
January 2003 – December 2012 (10 years)
I joined Lockheed Martin’s Product Integration group to fill the technical knowledge gap between design
and production. Product Integration was a proactive role to ensure the incorporation of new technology
in components and systems was matched with production technology. Production in this case refers to all
efforts required to convert customer requirements into delivered products. I ensured success by managing
projects from first concept through full rate production. All delivery commitments were met by managing
the multiple threads of process, quality, personnel, facilities, cost, materials, technology, industrial base and
design. To ensure I was utilizing the latest business techniques, I completed graduate studies in marketing,
finance, accounting and management. While managing programs and engaging in continuous learning, I
developed tools, tailored processes and taught Product Integration techniques to new team members.
Senior Technical Lead at Optical Solutions
2000 – 2002 (2 years)
Experience designing fiber optic interface systems allowed me to join a top talent team selected to convert an
$80 million infusion of capital into a line of Optic Network Terminals (ONT). I led the team that developed
a multi-dwelling unit, which converts a fiber optic signal to phone, cable and Ethernet for a townhouse or
small business. Recurring cost was a critical objective of development to an extent I hadn’t previously
considered. Every penny was scrutinized and squeezed with no relief in function, performance or quality.
My team completed the effort coincident with the burst of the high tech bubble. Optical Solutions was soon
sold to Calix who continues to offer the multi-dwelling unit as a part of their P-Series of ONTs.

Staff Engineer, Electrical at QLogic
1994 – 2000 (6 years)
Ancor was a drastic change from government contracting. There was a strong sense of entrepreneurialism
with passionate leadership toward focused goals. Missing was formal configuration management. Focus was
on development of an optic communications standard. Attempting to keep up with evolving requirements
and new technologies to win customers while maintaining configuration control demanded high energy and
strong collaboration. My responsibilities designing Ancor’s Fibre Channel switch product included design,
entry, production interface, test and compliance. The signal integrity required to sustain 1 Gbit rates was
cutting edge. Ancor’s Fibre Channel switch products now complement QLogic’s network interface adapters
to create a single company that continues to prosper.
Electrical Engineer at Control Data Corporation
1988 – 1994 (6 years)
Control Data was the start of my career where I was able to work with some of the most brilliant minds
in the industry. My expertise quickly grew with early projects building trackballs and interface panels,
creating electronic schematics, etching circuit boards and testing for compliance standards. My enthusiasm,
ingenuity and resourcefulness were rewarded by selection to a four person ASIC development team. The
team’s dedication to comprehensive simulation resulted in a fully functional product on our first attempt. The
product continues to see operation in field after more than twenty years.
