EMPLOYMENT

Carrier Corporation East Syracuse September 2011 – January 2016
Staff Engineer
Reciprocating Compressor Design

Duties:
Performed the full validation of the 06M compressor family. Validation was achieved through the use of Calorimeter and Reliability test stands. Responsible for generating full operating envelopes of 06M HT/MT & LT compressor models.

Accomplishments:

• Managed all phases of compressor design from ICS, ECS, and MCS
• Redesign components in the design to enhance performance and reliability requirements
• Redesigned the positive displacement gerotor pump to increase function as related to the pump
pick up line
• Redesigned the connecting rod/wrist pin interface to increase robustness and durability by
incorporating a FCNRB (full complement needle roller bearing) to meet testing requirements
• Redesigned the gerotor pump housing to effectively reduce increased pump pressure once the
desired pump pressure was achieved (Received US Patent for the redesign)
• Generated full operating envelopes for the HT/MT/LT 06M compressor family
• Designed the over speed compressor to meet 80Hz testing requirements
• Redesigned the discharge valve, discharge backers, suction valves, and valve plate

Magnapowertrain East Syracuse, NY February 2009 – August 2011
Engineering Technical Specialist
Automotive Components Supplier (Parts supplier for Ford, GM, Chrysler, VW, AMG, Dodge, Jeep)

Duties:
Performed full validation testing of components for relocation at new manufacturing facility
Lead Engineer on 2 high profile customer designs (Nissan, Ford)
Primary Responsible Engineer for gears, shafts and bearing designs
Lead problem-solving team in BAE planetary gearbox design
Design and Development Team member innovating a single speed gearbox for Ford electric car
Accomplishments:
• Accomplished all relocation validation within time frame set by upper management
• Successfully completed designs of both customers requested transfer cases within time frame
• All gears, shafts and bearing successfully completed customer required duty cycles
• Increased BAE durability life of gearbox by 200%
• Produced a Ford Single speed gearbox to reach duty cycle requirements

Magnapowertrain East Syracuse, NY January 2006
Romax Analysis Engineer
Automotive Components Supplier (Parts supplier for Ford, GM, Chrysler, VW, AMG, Dodge, Jeep)

Duties:
Analyzed all future product designs for robustness of bearing and shafts (Using Romax Software)
Redesigned future products to insure product would meet duty cycles as determined by the customer
Responsible to organize Analysis request, prioritization and report writing for all analysis.

Accomplishments:
• Produced designs which completed dynamometer test schedules
• Redesigned “questionable” designs before prototype parts were made for testing
• Produced concise, accurate and thorough reports to each internal customer in a timely manner
• Produced a cost reduction design for Ford to eliminate a bearing with a bushing
