Process Control Engineer
Drove on time and under budget the commission and start-up of new catalyst plant by collaborating with team of engineers.
o Implemented use of System Platform.
o Developed new control philosophy and installed new version of Wonderware Historian by working with third-party integrators.
o Controlled plant and integrated with System Platform by utilizing custom UDT and Function block in PLC code.
Work with Project Engineer helping them with instrumentation and electrical part of their projects.
o Wrote PLC code to implement project.
o Made sure that Instruments were ordered and on time.
Built and program a new piece of lab equipment for the QC lab.
o New unit double the number of attrition units and was under budget by 40%
Helped the R&D Dept. build a test reactor and setup the data collection system.
o Allowed the R&D Dept. to control the temperature of the reactor and collect data for gas flows and temperatures.
Worked with IT Dept to separate the business network from control network by installing new controls network.
Worked with other Engineers on starting up Zeolite plant.

Controls Engineer
Took charge of the Process Control system for the entire site. This consist of 3 PLC5 connected by Controlnet to 40 Flex I/O node distributed throughout the plant, 15 SLC 5/03 and 5/04 spread throughout the plant, and The HMI system. The HMI is an Ifix system with 10 Scada and 17 Iclients all connected together through the plant LAN network.
Set up a historian at the plant using Ihistorian and Proficy Portal.
Converted some of the single loop control at the Bismuth plant to a compact logix platform.
o This allowed for better control of the process and monitoring of the product
Worked with the Project Engineers on selecting control instruments.
o Did some of the programming for the projects that they were working on.
Worked with the IT dept. on maintaining and upgrading our PC that was used on the control systems and in the office areas.
Worked on a 5 yr capital plan to upgrade our control systems to a control logix platform. Replacing the Controlnet network with Ethernet. Connect all of the SLC 5/03 and 5/04 to a common network. Reduce the Scada count from 10 servers to 2 servers and move all of the Iclients from stand alone PC to a Terminal Server.

Worked with R & D engineers on the control systems for a new filtration system for increasing solids in pigment slurry.
Upgraded the graphic when it changed from Winview to RSview. Converted the graphics from a Nematron display to RSview.
Worked on a team that replaced the Fisher and Porter DCS with a Delta V system.
o Maintained the system and backup as needed.
o Made programming changes as new process were added.
o Converted the entire graphic when Delta V went from Fix 32 to Ifix.
Worked with Engineers to collect data from PLC and enabled the data to be viewed across the plant network. Set up a Server to collect data from a RS3 DCS using Ihistorian and Proficy Portal.
Maintained backup of all the PLC and SLC running in the plant and worked closely with E&I to help troubleshoot any problems that arose.
