Responsible for Refurbish/Initial installation set-up/start-up/test evaluation of Siemens Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines. Performs magnet ramping in a high magnetic field environment, magnet shimming, tune-up, calibrations, Quality Assurance tests, trail scans, image evaluation, troubleshooting, repairs and retrofitting upgrades of hardware and software. Replacement of 4K and 10K coldheads. Monitor and maintain the status of major operating systems including safety, electronics, high magnetic fields, handling cryogenics (liquid helium and nitrogen), glycol/water-cooling chiller, compressors, RF transmitters, AC/DC 3 phase power. Performs complex product and service training to customers and hospital staff/technicians. Maintains initial and operational documentation of all installations, inspections, testing, failures, replacement of parts, service tools and test equipment. Daily interface with customers, contractors, venders, hospital staff, medical personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution. Performs assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements. All work performed in accordance with safety regulations, schematics, blueprints, 5S, SOPs and TMs. Intimate knowledge of HIPAA, LOTO, ALARA, regulatory compliance with FDA and OSHA. Monitor and maintain the status of major operating systems including safety, PLC’s, hydraulics, high magnetic fields, high vacuum, turbo pumps, cryogenics (liquid nitrogen), water-cooling, high-power RF transmitters, conveyors, robotics, automated machinery and AC/DC power. Delivery of various radioisotopes including (Indium, Thallium, Iodine, and Xenon). Daily use of dosimetry, radiation monitoring and measurement readings. Basic knowledge of 5S philosophy and lean/six sigma-manufacturing environment, GMP, LOTO and ALARA. Regulatory compliance with FDA, OSHA, IEMA and DEA. Working knowledge of various Allen Bradley PLC.
