Responsible for almost every aspect of construction of drilling rig Power Control Houses from procurement of steel to design of Driller’s Console control logic. Used AutoCAD 2007 to produce drawing packages for Ross Hill style generator control and SCR drive systems. Interconnect schematics and wirelists for MCC, Gen/SCR cubicles, Driller’s Console, plug panel and generator windows. Laser engraved nameplates for equipment labels. Designed a 1000VDC power supply to be used for capacitor reforming in large VFD’s that have been idle. Custom projects for customers such as mating PLC and touchscreen control to the analog Ross Hill SCR drive using a MODBUS, designed a timed Enjet exhaust fan controller for offshore rigs. Designed a digital test station for Hall Effect Devices.

Created drawings for GE turbine-generator set that incorporated customer requested options as well as options required per site designated thermal guidelines. Added optional control equipment to the Bill of Materials. Designed 24 volt 4-20 mAmp control/instrumentation wiring required for the first pulse-cleaned air filter with built-in evaporative cooler for the LM6000 Millenium turbine/generator. Used AutoCAD LT 2000 and eMatrix to update drawing packages.New Product Design – GE10 50/60 HZResearched devices that are CE marked to replace existing parts that were not certified for use in Europe. Filled out part forms to have them added to the GE inventory system and added the parts to the Bill of Materials once approved. Replaced a 16-channel relay card (not CE marked) with a CE marked 16-channel solid-state output card to activate 16 individual relays and designed all of the associated wiring needed to comply with the necessary CE requirements. Checked schematics and traced wiring diagrams through the entire 50 and 60 Hz systems to correct the mistakes in the initial design and used AutoCAD LT and eMatrix to update package designs.
