Steam Generation Expansion Project 1 (SGX1) will add 1 additional OTSG to the existing Surmont 2 plant (S2) steam generation train C, to increase S2 plant capacity from 118,000 BPSD to approximately 139,000 BPSD. Instrumentation and automation scope involves execute the project with minimum changes existing S1 Debottlenecking project package and design, install and commission the instrumentation and Yokogawa automation system. And also work with the systems vendor(s) to eliminate the requirement for a shutdown/outage when linking to the existing S2 systems.

Project: ConocoPhillips: Surmont 2 Emulsion Breaker Injection January 2015 -Oct 2015
The emulsion breaker (EB) chemical injection upstream of the Surmont 2 Central Processing Facility (CPF) vessels provides inadequate residence time to allow the demulsifier to properly mix with the emulsion product. This causes difficult operating conditions and results in excessive use of demulsifier chemical. An additional emulsion breaker chemical injection facility located along the Surmont 2 pipeline corridor will provide an additional residence time for demulsifier to mix with the emulsion stream

The main purpose of the Fluid Fine Tailings – Centrifuging Full Scale Plant (FFT-CFSP) project at Mildred Lake is to dewater the mature fine tailings (MFT) mixture to form a semi-solid mud cake material and a resultant liquid called centrate. This will reduce the MFT volumes to meet regulatory agreements and land reclamation targets and support the Syncrude Canada Limited (SCL) tailings management plan.

The Richmond plant produces 5,000 barrels per day of premium base oil. Project involved restructure of entire control system such that the company would produce additional end product and run efficiently.
