• Responsible for new product development including: defining product electronics architecture, circuit design, identifying new technologies and feasibility studies, schematic capture, circuit board design and layout, electromechanical integration, and prototype testing.

• Work closely with internal approvals department and many external regulatory bodies including FM, CE, exida, UL, ATEX, DEMKO, and CSA to interpret and test to regulatory standards with the goal of acquisition and preservation of global performance and hazardous location certifications across product lines.

• Part of a UTC M&A team that evaluated a potential acqusitions products to determine quality, reliability and performance attributes which ultimately lead to an acquisition.

• Work closely with embedded, validation and approval engineers along with marketing on the design, testing and requirements capture of combustible/toxic gas and flame detection products.

• Work with marketing product managers to architect next generation product platforms designed to leverage proven electrical, mechanical, and embedded designs, mitigating risk.

• Reduced product development time by modeling embedded software algorithms on a PC before firmware.

• Wrote engineering change orders (ECOs) that implement changes in bill of materials, manufacturing instructions, assembly procedures including new product releases.

• Designed and built automated fixtures for testing and calibration of electronic assemblies.
